You are staying on the Sorrento Coast but you would like to visit Positano and the wonderful Amalfi Coast? You have no idea on how to get from Sorrento to Positano? No worries, we are here to help!
Here is a list of options to get from Sorrento to Positano and back:
1. By bus
From the Sorrento station there are different buses that take different routes to Positano running alone the panoramic coast. It is about 60 minutes to Positano and 90 minutes to Amalfi, because one has to take into consideration all the stops that the bus make.
You can check the bus timetables on the public transport official website.
The Positano bus stop is right above the shoreline and gives quite the view but after that a steep walkdown awaits. Luckly public transport comes to help and can take you directly to the city centre. If you have problems to recognize the stop, try to ask the driver, or get a map from our hotel hall!
P.S: in the morning the bus lines are very busy because of people moving, so if you want to get the best seats (those which face the coast on the right side of the bus) try to get there as early as possible!
2. By car
If you rented a car and you want to experience some italian driving, you will have to follow the directions to the road number 145 following the directions to San Pietro or to Positano / Amalfi. The trip will take around 50 minutes.
3. By Ferry
This is an exclusive for the summer season, but one can choose to take it slowly and take the ferry boat from the Marina Piccola Port in the town of Sorrento to reach Positano. One can also do just one way by boat, just to have a taste of some Mediterranean sea.
